Quick Overview
Details
Epoxy FAS 100 DPM is a lightly pigmented all surface epoxy damp proof membrane. Epoxy FAS 100 DPM sticks to nearly all surface including oily and damp concrete, ceramic and terrazzo tiles, metal old bitumen coated floors etc. Epoxy FAS DPM is ideal when you are trying to provide a damp proof membrane over a contaminated or poor quality floor.
Epoxy FAS 100 DPM is supplied in two colours, red and blue, either can be applied as the first coat. After drying the second coat should be applied within 48 hours. When this coat is applied it should be applied to a thickness so the colour from the fist coat cannot be seen, this allow the person applying the product to check the product has been applied at the correct thickness and a damp proof membrane has been created.
Epoxy FAS 100 DPM is supplied in revolutionary multi chamber bag technology. The advantages being the product can be mixed by hand rather than a paddle mixer, the bag once emptied can be disposed of in normal rubbish bins not via chemical waste collection bins. Also as the bag is flexible, all of the product within the bag can be squeezed out so none of the product is wasted.
Epoxy FAS 100 can be blinded with quartz aggregate to create a key for self leveling compounds, screeds, tiles and other products that require a high quality key.
THIS KIT CONTAINS 2.5KG OF RED AND 2.5KG OF BLUE EPOXY FAS 100 DPM which is enough resin to create a new damp proof membrane over a floor surface of between 5 - 8m²
Notes on working
When working, make sure that suitable protective equipment is worn (see Personal protective equipment).
Application method
Depending on application with a rubber wiper or epoxy roller
Working temperature
The temperature of the resin mix-ture, surrounding air and substrate must be at least 8 °C and max. 30 °C. Relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The substrate tem-perature must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature.
Drying time
At 20 °C and 60% relative humid-ity: foot traffic after 16 hours, me-chanical loads after 2 days, full loading capacity after 7 days. At lower temperatures correspond-ingly longer.
Protect the applied material from moisture during the curing process (approx. 24 hours at 20 °C), oth-erwise the surface may be dis-turbed and problems with adhesion may occur.
Application examples
Priming twice:
The resin mixture is applied gen-erously to the surface and distrib-uted with a suitable tool, e.g. a rubber wiper, until the pores in the surface are completely filled. Then work over with an epoxy roller.
The application rate depends on the substrate and is approx. 0.30-0.50 kg/m² per working operation.
The second coat of primer should have a different colour than the first coat.
To ensure that the subsequently applied floor covering adheres well, selectively broadcast the second coat of primer while fresh with quartz sand (grain approx. 0.1-0.3 mm).
