Details
IIack ST is a solvent-based, cold-worked protective bitumen coating for waterproofing exposed concrete and masonry. It can also be used as a coating for iron and zinc to protect against corrosion or as a primer on old bitumen coatings, blinded with sand, for subsequent bitumen thick coatings. (Profi-tight). Remmers Ilack ST is not UV-resistant.
After the solvents have evaporated, the remaining bitumen film is resistant to heat and cold, the effects of driving rain and ground water and is not attacked by weak acids in rainwater, light salt solutions in sea water and the ground water.
Application:
Apply Ilack ST several times to the dry substrate, using a brush or suitable spraying equipment, covering completely. Allow each individual layer to dry thoroughly. Depending on load, at least 3 coatings are required when used as a protective coating in ground areas and at least 2 coatings for protection against corrosion. When used as a primer for Remmers Bitumen Thick Coatings, blind while fresh with Quartz Sand 0.2 – 0.7 mm.
Substrate
The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry. Apply a layer of grout to masonry work in the ground first, e.g. with Remmers Waterproofing Grouts in the Kiesol System or apply render. Iron should be de-rusted first by e.g. sandblasting. De-grease zinc sheet e.g. with nitrocellulose thinner or Remmers Thinner V101.
