iQ-Therm - The New Fully Breathable Interior Insulation System for Restoring Buildings from Remmers

Permagard are proud to announce the launch of iQ-Therm, the New Breathable Interior Insulation System from Remmers in June 2010.

iQ-Therm is a new, intelligent interior wall insulation system developed by Remmers. It combines capillarity, thermal insulation and the regulation of moisture in the air into one fully breathable system. iQ-Therm offers a unique combination - the reliability of proven capillary-active calcium silicate materials and high thermal insulation capacity of organic foams.

A moisture buffering soption layer allows additional regulation of moisture in the air throughout the whole system. This ensures a comfortable room climate and reliable protection against infestation with mould.

iQ-Therm works due to the presence of holes at regular intervals perpendicular to the surface of high insulating polyurethane foam panels. The holes are filled in th emanufacturing process with a special mineral which has a high cappillary action.

The panels are bonded to the surface of the interior wall with a special mineral mortar or 'glue'. They are then coated with a highly porous , mineral, light weight plaster some 10 - 15mm thick  which forms the sorption layer and surface for finishing and decorating.

The iQ-Therm system is unique for refurbishing buildings from the inside and significantly upgrading the insulation properties whilst remaining fully breathable – with no vapour barrier.

iQ-Therm is considered to be an all in one answer to solve condensation, mould and heat loss. This system will be ideally installed where traditional wall insulation methods cannot be used or where external wall insulation is not viable.
