PermaSEAL Flashband Overtape 300 is a premium quality, self-adhesive tape for sealing a variety of membranes, with excellent adhesion onto a wide range of substrates. This 300mm flashband is extra-wide, providing good coverage over joints and around connections. PermaSEAL Flashband Overtape is also the perfect tape for sealing overlapping joints of PermaSEAL PRO Green Roof Root Barrier.

Uses

Our foiled-backed tape is designed for long-lasting protection against water and vapour penetration. It’s highly flexible, UV and weather resistant, making it the ideal solution for various external roof applications.

PermaSEAL Flashband Overtape 300 is suitable for horizontal and vertical applications. It’s easy-to-use and ideal for professionals and DIY installers, providing reliable sealing around difficult shapes and changes in materials, including concrete, brick, wood, metal, glass and roofing felt. Here are some of the common uses:

• Sealing root barrier membrane joints
• Repair of existing flashing
• Sealing around chimneys, windows and skylights

Applying PermaSEAL Flashband Overtape

Our flash banding tape is easy to apply, perfect for DIYers and tradespeople alike. You can be confident whatever your skill level. Although easy to use, it is important to follow the application instructions provided. Here’s an overview:

Preparation

Make sure the substrate is dry and free from oil, grease, dust, dirt as well as any moss or algae. Prime porous substrates with SBR Bonding Additive.

Important note: Avoid cleaning the substrate with detergents as these can interfere with the initial bond.

Applying

Cut PermaSEAL Flashband Overtape to the desired length. Peel back approximately 100mm of the backing paper and press the tape into position. Use a hard roller to ensure good adhesion to the substrate and all overlaps and edges are well sealed. Avoid joins in the flashing where possible.

For the correct water run off, ensure the upper section of tape overlaps down over any lower section of tape. For root barrier joints, ensure the tape is evenly shared 150mm either side of the joint, for maximum protection against more aggressive roots.

Important note: In cold weather, bring the tape up to temperature before application.
