Learn more about Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes

Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes

Permagard Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes are a high build water-resistant epoxy floor coating designed to be applied to clean concrete. Once set, it creates a new epoxy damp proof membrane that will hold back residual damp in the concrete slab and prevent issues with rising damp.

At Permagard, we sell the following epoxy resin DPM products:

Benefits of Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes

Epoxy DPMs are an ultra-convenient way to damp proof concrete slabs, protecting them from rising damp. When installing an Epoxy DPM over concrete there is no need for intrusive mechanical work - you simply prepare the surface and apply. This saves hours of labour and dramatically reduces costs.

Epoxy DPMs deliver the following benefits:

  • full protection from rising damp
  • a sound base for further floor finishes to be applied
  • easy to apply
  • cost-effective
  • create minimal mess

Protecting against Rising Damp in Concrete Floors

Rising damp in concrete flooring is a significant issue. One solution is to dig up the floor and replace the existing damp proof membrane with a new plastic membrane then relay the concrete slab. This method is very costly and extremely invasive. It can cost over £90 per m².

Our epoxy DPM products create a new damp proof membrane in a highly efficient and cost effective way.  It’s a method that saves hours of labour, creates minimal mess and reduces costs dramatically. There is no need for intrusive mechanical work so you can forget about skip hire, concrete deliveries and redecoration costs. All you need to do is simply brush or roller 2 - 3 coats that can then be tiled or carpeted over. Generally a new epoxy damp proof membrane can be laid in two days and will be ready for subsequent floor coatings on the third day.

Epoxy Damp Proof Installation Overview

Simply brush or roller the epoxy damp proof membrane onto the substrate, allow to dry for 1-2 hours then re-coat. Once dry, it creates a new damp and vapour proof membrane that can be overcoated with screed, tiles or insulation for wooden floors or floating floors.
