Wykamol Basement Membranes
Permagard stock the following Wykamol cavity drain membranes:
- Wykamol CM8 Waterproofing Membrane 40m² – wall and floor membrane
- Wykamol CM20 High Capacity Waterproofing Membrane 40m² – floor membrane
- Wykamol CM8 Plaster Mesh Membrane 40m² – mesh membrane for direct plaster finish
- Wykamol CM8 Geotextile Membrane 2m x 20m – external drainage and protection membrane
Unlike conventional cementitious tanking systems, Wykamol waterproof membranes allow water to enter the cavity and then control it to a designated collection point before removal. The membranes work alongside a drainage system installed at the base of the membrane to collect water that penetrates the substrate and drops behind the membrane. Once collected, water is directed to a natural soakaway, sewer connection, or a sump system for evacuation from the building.
Wykamol studded waterproofing membranes are manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). They are impermeable, water repellent and resistant to the chemicals commonly found in construction. In addition to waterproofing performance, the membranes provide protection against substrate contamination. The stud profile creates a controlled air gap against the underlying structure.
