Learn more about Wood Treatments

Wood Treatments

At Permagard, we stock a range of wood treatments that are formulated and proven to protect and preserve timber from the elements. They also help to increase its natural durability against fungal rot and insect attack.

Our high quality wood treatments are suitable for timber facades, construction timbers, furniture, roofing, sheds, garden rooms, high quality fencing and other absorbent wooden elements.

The Permagard range of wood treatments are designed and approved for use by both professional and amateur users. They include convenient ready to use products for DIYers and concentrated wood treatments for the professional, for use on larger projects.

Preservative Wood Treatments

All of the wood treatments stocked and manufactured by ourselves are either HSE or BPR approved. They have efficacy certification for both the prevention and eradication of insect attack or fungal attack (where appropriate).

Wood Treatment For Dipping

Most of our wood treatments can be applied by dipping the timber into a “bath” or “tank” of prepared treatment. Whilst this can be time consuming and quite expensive to initially fill the tank this is one of the most effective ways to pre-treat timber.

We also manufacture Permadip 9 - an industrial wood treatment for rough cut outdoor timber that imparts colour into the timber through the dipping process. Permadip 9 is primarily designed to impart colour into garden furniture, sheds, fences and other outdoor timber via the dipping process after the timber has been preserved.

As Permadip 9 fence treatment is an industrial wood pre-treatment, we suggest applying a wood stain or varnish again between 3 - 9 months after installation to give the timber further protection against moisture.
