These two-component tins of liquid epoxy DPM create a new damp proof layer across a concrete floor surface protecting any future covering from damp.

5kg Tins of Epoxy DPM

This Epoxy DPM is a two-component, solvent free, low odour epoxy resin membrane that is tolerant of residual moisture in concrete floors. This enables earlier access onto the floor for the application of screeds, coatings and other floor coverings including tiles, vinyl, wood and carpets. Our epoxy DPM has good chemical resistance to mild chemical attack, but is designed to be over-coated with other resin finishes.

Why not try our Epoxy DPM 5kg in a multi-chamber bag for even easier mixing?

Our Epoxy DPM can be used on concrete floors and fine concrete screeds, of not less than 50mm thick in the case of un-bonded screeds. The surface should be of sufficient quality and mechanical strength to ensure an even coating.

The product can also be applied to polymers, screeds and certain types of smoothing under-layments, as long as these are well bonded. These under-layments must be stable to the effects of water. If not, then the concrete floor must contain an integral damp. proof membrane to prevent further ingress of water from the ground.

If you are laying the epoxy onto a concrete surface with an ineffective damp proof membrane or where there isn't one at all, you need to consider the possibility of hydrostatic pressure. By creating a barrier layer, you will direct the pressure/water flow elsewhere.

Liquid Epoxy DPM Application

Mixing the Epoxy DPM Tins

Open each tin and add the smaller container to the larger container and mix with a mixing paddle in the end of a power drill at a slow speed. Ensure the product is thoroughly mixed, is consistent and has no streaks. The minimum mixing time is 2 minutes.

Important Note: Once the two components are mixed, you should start to lay the Epoxy DPM immediately as you have a working time of approximately 10 - 30 minutes depending on substrate and air temperature. The warmer the temperature the quicker the product will start to go off.

Application Instructions

Apply the mixed material using a high quality roller. Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes are always installed in a minimum of two coats 24 - 48 hours apart.

For floors with a high RH Reading above 92% three coats are required. Once mixed, the product has a usable life of approximately 10-30 minutes maximum depending on site conditions. Past this point the product cannot be used for further coats.

Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane is applied at 250 micron thickness (0.2mm) per coat. Although the epoxy will tolerate slight variations to this, we would not advise that it is applied above 0.5mm thickness as this could result in bubbling and curing issues.

Liquid Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane dries black, if you require a coloured finish we recommend a coat of Epoxy Resin Floor Coating HB after Liquid Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane has been installed. Adding a layer of Epoxy Resin Floor Coating HB will give protection to the new damp proof membrane that you have just created.

If you wish to lay tiles or adhere any further coatings including self-levelling compounds on top of this coating we advise that you blind the final coat of Liquid Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane with Fine Quartz Aggregate 30 minutes after laying the coat to provide a key for the tile adhesive or grout to bond to.
