Newton 520 High Drainage Basement Floor Membrane
Newton 520 Eco is a cavity drain membrane for basement floors. It is made entirely from recycled HDPE plastic. Newton 520 is a key component of a ‘Type C’ cavity drain system designed to protect basements from water ingress and flooding.
Newton 520 is a high drainage capacity basement floor membrane. The 20mm cavities are able to deal with larger volumes of water ingress. Once installed it provides peace of mind for property owners at risk from flooding.
Uses of Newton 520 Eco
Newton 520 is a floor membrane and a part of Newton System 500 - a ‘Type C’ basement waterproofing system. It is designed for waterproofing earth-retaining structures under ground where the risk of large volumes of water ingress is present.
Installing Newton 520 Eco
Where Newton 520 meets the wall junction it can be sealed to the upstand of the drainage channel, the wall membrane or Newton Condensation strip with Newton Overtape. Follow manufacturer’s instructions. This basement floor membrane should be installed along with drainage channels and a Newton sump pump system to provide protection for property owners.
Finishing: Once the membrane has been installed you need to protect it with a screed, a timber floor on a fixed lattice, insulation or underfloor heating.
