The PermaSEAL PRO Single Pump & Battery Backup System is a complete basement pumping solution combining dependable groundwater removal with automatic protection against mains power failure.
This integrated kit combines:
- PermaSEAL Basement Sump & Pump System
- Newton Victron MultiPlus 12/500/20 Inverter/Charger Battery Back-Up Kit
- Newton 60Ah Victron Super Cycle AGM Battery
Under normal operating conditions, the TAS250 pump removes groundwater collected from the waterproofing system and discharges it safely away from the structure. The separate high water level alarm provides an early warning if water rises above the normal operating level.
If the mains electricity supply fails, the Victron MultiPlus inverter automatically converts stored 12V DC battery energy into stable 230V AC power in under 20 milliseconds. This allows the pump to continue operating without manual intervention during a temporary power outage.
Together, the matched components provide a convenient, coordinated solution for installations where a single sump pump is appropriate but continued operation during loss of mains power is also required.

Reliable Single-Pump Water Removal
The PermaSEAL sump system includes a robust octagonal chamber, TAS250 automatic pump, locked and sealed recessed lid, internal pressure-rated pipework, non-return valve and quick-release shut-off valve.
The chamber provides eight large surfaces for inlet connections of up to 110mm using a suitable wall flange. Its flared base improves stability and helps resist flotation when correctly installed within the surrounding concrete.
Automatic Operation During Power Failure
The Victron MultiPlus inverter automatically changes over to battery power in under 20 milliseconds when mains supply is interrupted. The rapid transfer maintains the electrical supply to the pump without requiring the property owner to activate the system manually.
Continued pumping during an outage helps reduce the risk of water accumulating within the chamber and entering the basement waterproofing system.
Clean, Stable Power Supply
The inverter produces true sine wave 230V AC output, providing clean, grid-quality electrical power to the TAS250 pump. This supports dependable motor start-up, reduces electrical stress and helps the pump operate efficiently under load.
Reliable and Expandable Energy Storage
The included 60Ah Victron Super Cycle AGM battery is sealed, non-spillable and maintenance-free. It is designed for repeated cycling and has a stated service design life of 12 years or more under suitable operating conditions.
Additional compatible batteries can be connected in parallel to increase the available amp-hours and extend pumping duration during longer power outages. Each additional battery requires the appropriate link leads and system configuration.
High Water Warning and Serviceable Components
A separate battery-powered high water level alarm warns the property owner if water rises above the pump's normal operating level. The quick-release pump connection also makes it easier to remove the TAS250 for inspection and servicing.
Installation and Compatibility
This system is intended for professional installation. The sump chamber should be installed by an experienced waterproofing contractor, while the inverter, battery and associated electrical components must be installed by a suitably qualified and electrically competent person.
The Victron inverter and battery must be positioned in a dry, well-ventilated internal environment. Permanent access should also be retained for routine inspection, testing and servicing of the sump, pump, alarm and battery back-up equipment.
