Speed up Your Project Time With Permagard

Time is money, and as a damp proofing specialist, the products you work with can determine the success of a project and its profitability.

At Permagard, we prioritise effectiveness and ease of use when developing our ranges. We also explore innovative or improved methods of application. Take a look with us at some of our key damp proofing products that cut project times while achieving high-quality results.

Our fast-curing epoxy one-coat DPM

When installing a DPM, long drying times combined with the need to lay multiple coats can add huge delays to the project. Most epoxy DPMs need two or even three coats to create a reliable damp proof barrier, and curing times can be as long as 12-24 hours.

Our PermaCOAT PRO One Coat DPM dramatically reduces this downtime. It requires just a single coat and cures incredibly quickly. It’s walkable within 4-6 hours at 20°C and can be applied to a wide range of substrates, including concrete and sand or cement screeds. This means that you can begin tiling or add smoothing compounds as little as four hours after laying the DPM - reducing your project time by allowing you to get the final flooring laid rather than waiting around.

Sometimes sourcing the right product for a project can be as time-consuming as the job itself. So, when you have an effective, multifunction product that you know you can rely on, you save yourself time every time. There’s no need to research an alternative or multiple products.

PermaSEAL PRO MP 2C is a truly multipurpose waterproofing product. It combines the qualities of a bitumen thick coating (PMBC) with a flexible waterproofing grout, making it suitable for a huge range of applications, including:

  • Waterproofing new and existing buildings

  • As a bonding layer over old bitumen coatings
  • Waterproofing horizontally under walls and in wall construction
  • Sealing movement joints in combination with flexible reinforcement tape
  • Bonding below-ground external insulation panels

These are just a few examples. Its features include:

  • 2500kN/m² compressive strength
  • High flexibility and crack bridging
  • Can be painted and plastered over, with no need for priming
  • Fast drying
  • Waterproof
  • Radon-tight

It’s also easy to apply at scale by airless sprayer, making it easier and quicker to tackle those large waterproofing jobs.

MicroShield ULTRA masonry waterproofing cream

Needing multiple coats with long drying times is a surefire way to extend project times.

Masonry waterproofing treatments are a job that normally requires multiple coats. MicroShield ULTRA masonry waterproofing cream provides long-lasting protection (25+ years) after just one coat.

High concentrations of organically modified silane and siloxane penetrate deep into the substrates (up to 13mm in standard brickwork). This lines the pores with silicone deep into the wall, creating an effective, breathable waterproof barrier.

It can be applied by roller, brush or airless spraying equipment at a rate of 0.2l/m². Its consistency also means that you don’t get run-off, which allows you to apply it more efficiently - further speeding up the project time.

Perma-Vent passive condensation control vent

Condensation can be a tricky problem to fix, especially on a budget. In locations without direct ventilation, finding an affordable solution can be a challenge. Our Perma-Vent Condensation Control Vent is a cost-effective way to deliver passive ventilation. It’s easy to install, and can help reduce and stop mould and condensation in localised, problem areas.

Installing a vent is significantly quicker than other, more dramatic and labour-intensive solutions. It can be fitted using a 4.25” core cutter and can be positioned wherever needed. Wall thickness isn’t an issue, as the unit is supplied with a 13.5” central core that will be sufficient for most properties. Once installed, it can be highly effective, with results often seen quickly.
