The Client

The project was delivered for Avonmouth Auto Electrical, a specialist vehicle diagnostics and repair business based in Avonmouth. Their busy workshop required a hard-wearing, professional floor finish to support day-to-day operations and a clean working environment.

The Brief

The client wanted a seamless, easily cleaned surface that could withstand regular vehicle traffic, occasional chemical exposure and routine maintenance. The finish also needed to brighten the space and present a smart, professional appearance for staff and customers.

The Challenge

The existing concrete substrate had typical workshop wear and light staining from oils and traffic. Any new coating had to achieve a strong bond to the concrete while delivering long-term resistance to oils, greases and cleaning chemicals, and maintaining an attractive finish across a sizeable 300m² area.

The Solution

Avonmouth Auto Electrical’s in-house customer team prepared the concrete using a walk-behind mechanical grinder to remove contaminants and laitance, providing a clean, keyed surface for coating. Following manufacturer guidance, PermaCOAT Epoxy Floor Coating in grey was applied to the prepared substrate. The high-performing epoxy created a dense, durable surface with excellent chemical resistance and an easy-clean profile. The grey tone enhanced light reflectivity and delivered a consistent, professional look across the full 300m² workshop.
